Project Reality LAN issue

So I just gave my mate PR, he installed it, and we tried to play a co-op LAN game via an Ethernet cable connecting our two computers. I created a server and got going. He found the server and joined, but when the loading finished, his PR just closed down. We tried again vice versa, and the same thing happened to me. We then tried using a wireless hotspot on my computer, to no avail. Before I go creating a profile on the PR forum to troubleshoot this, does anyone have any idea what the problemo is, or what I'm doing wrong? The only other game we can play LAN together with is the original Halo, and while fun and still one of my favorite games... I'd like to play PR now :) I really want to demonstrate my poor helicopter flying skills!

Thanks again for reposting on the PR forum, really appreciate it :D

So I tried playing PR online yesterday, and the best ping I got on a populated server was around 350-400 (best on unpopulated servers was around 250). PR runs awfully over 300 :(

I always play with 300+ ping (since I'm living in China)... my only problems are lag spikes (not common) and that I have to lead the target a bit more. Other than that, I have no problem at all!

So I've moved to a new anchorage, and my Internet's improved. I just played online, and got 250-350 (depending on the server)... now and then I'll get 800, but just for a moment. Unless I was in such a spike, I had close to no lag! Very happy :)

One of the replies!

I am managing on a local network.

win7/64 and vista32 via my Comtrend comes with the Internet contract router/modem.

Create local, then the other join local and it works fine in both directions although VOIP has so much lag it's funny.

One thread was map crashes another was about hamachi.

300 ping? And here I am complaining about 120 pings... Ani, I'd advise you to err... you know.. not download anything while playing games online.. wouldn't want people thinking something else now would we?

I literally once had a dream where I had 50 ping. That's how sad my Internet is. I'd kill to have 120!

Hahahaha! So much for wetdreams eh! I wish I had even 200 ping!! Sorry for writing this here but btw, I tried sending you a PM as well as leaving you a message on your profile but dunno why the text box doesn't allow me to write anything! I'll try later again...

When I used to play battlefield I used to see people with like 3-4ms ping. Gets me thinking.. Were they sitting on top of the server at that time?
