How... just how is it that Indians wound up in the german army when the Brits had India under its control...

POW's from Afrika campaign recruited with the Tiger Legion i believe, or so some name like that but i might be wrong , the shoulder patch was a tiger with independent indian flag though, they also were involved in heavy battles in North Italy against partisans, according to Germans officers they were good soldiers.

Proper British men also served in the Wehrmacht , but they just numbered in the hundreds. (mostly irish)
