Perhaps I'm slow on the uptake or this is actually new but I've just tried out LAN streaming of games using Steam using "In-Home Streaming" and I must say I'm impressed.

My laptop getting on for 5 years old and only has integrated graphics but I was able to play Bioshock Infinite pretty smoothly. I wouldn't try playing Battlefield online but for singleplayer games FPS games I'd live with it for the convenience or novelty of not playing at my main machine. RTS games I doubt you'd notice the difference to be quite frank.

Has anyone else tried it out? I wonder what people's thoughts on the new system are and what you plan to use it for?

I also tried it with a single-player FPS, and having Metro: Last Light run on a machine that would otherwise melt at the thought of it was impressive. Using a controller is best for my setup, and the latency was certainly not noticeable, even for Next Car Game. Means I can play my games on the big screen without having to go through the hassle of moving my PC, which is great!

I have my PC connected to the TV with a HDMI cable (as a "2nd monitor"), and a home-made circut hooked up to a USB port that connects to my PS3 controller via bluetooth.

I can play with that controller in another room (where the TV is located) with no noticable latency.

Just remembered this, and would like to know what you did? I don't have bluetooth on my PC, but using my PS3 - eventually a Dualshock 4 - controller wirelessly would be great. (Especially as I found a tool to map a controller to control your mouse, so I could be super lazy and just browse the internet from afar.) I know you can buy bluetooth adapters, but I like making stuff myself.

So yeah, home-made circuit... Can I has details? :D

If I can find the schematic I can scan it for you.
But it was made by my cusin so i can't tell you the know.how myself.

From what he said it was just a simple reciver that outputs to a USB.
