What would be the most typical Heer tunic in Normandy during the early stages of the D-DAY Invasion issued to standard troops?

Very good idea, reminds me of the Forgotten Hope 2 Forum's "Questions Thread". Even though to make it official someone probably needs to change it to "Question" Here". ;)

Ok, I'm going to let @VonMudra handle this. :p

M36, M40, or M43. All were equally common, thanks to the as usual ecliptic German production and issuance methods. Less common would be the assualt gun wrap, which was issued occasionally to Heer Panzergrenaidier units, and 130th Panzer Lehr fully equipped their infantry with it (essentially just the normal assualt gun wrap, but with heer litzen in the collar tabs). The M44 tunic only started making it to the frontlines around late 1944, too late to see service in Normandy (and even then it was still rather uncommon).
