The Opel Blitz was used throughout the Second World War as the main supply and troop truck of the Wehrmacht and SS. It was a reliable pack-horse, and capable of hauling up to 3 tons of men and supplies. As most of the most successful German vehicles, the Opel Blitz saw use in a mass variety of roles; from its designed purpose for supply and transport, to servicing, AA, a halftrack version (the Opel Maultier) that was used for heavy transport such as artillery, and even as a rocket launcher in its own right. All in all, it was a highly successful vehicle, which saw service on every front of the European and Mediterranean theatres of operation.
