Hey guys! Below are a few ideas regarding the game.
Ranking System
Players shouldn't be given promotions so easily. They should be given to players who work really hard both in and off the battlefield and demonstrate that they are truly sacrificing themselves for the team. Therefore I believe that rank promotions should be assigned to players who meet at least 2 (if not all) of these 3 factors:
1. Players who are an essential asset to their team: by capturing flags, destroying objectives, being a good medic, or being a true teamworker, should deserve or at least be noticed for a promotion.
2. Players who have a lot of experience: the more you have been playing, attending battles, demonstrating that you are putting your maximum effort and time into trying to achieve your team's victory should be considered for a promotion.
3. Players who have been recommended by at least 2 higher ranked players: As the games go on, higher ranking staff should obviously check the performance of their team and if they notice good behavior and work from their men, they should reward accordingly. If they notice a player exceeding their expectations, they should talk with chain of command in order to give this successful player a promotion.
I think that this system of giving promotions is fair for everybody and should motivate players to really work hard.
Medals
Another method of motivating people is by giving medals. Medals should meet similar factors to the above to reward players.
Medals could include:
- First parachute jump
- Finishing boot camp
- Funniest blooper (for this, the whole team could vote on it)
- Best teamwork player (same as above)
- Best squad leader
- Best squad
- Completing the first campaign
- and so on...
Scores
An issue that a few people pointed out is that personal score (kills/deaths/etc). I think that they should be shown only in private (as in the forums, after the game finished, and in a section of when the game is opened like BF2) for personal view and for team Leader view so that they can analyze and see the performance of their team players. During the game, there should NOT be a score table. Players should not focus on their scores and their team scores. They should focus on the game. So no Tab button showing who has the most points please! That button can be used for something more useful!
HUD
Things that should appear in the HUD display should be maybe just a compass, like a BF2: Project Reality so the players know where they are heading or where the objectives are. As well, whoever is talking on mumble. Health, bullets, ammo, map, crosshair, etc. should not be included.
When the players are getting fired at, or surpress, the screen could become blurry and shaky making it hard for the players to aim and shoot back.
Others
Wounded players: Players should be able to carry the wounded to safety. If a player is down and is wounded (maybe a leg got shot), another player could come and (at the press of a button) put his arm around the wounded and take him to safety or where a medic is. As well, if the player is heavily wounded and cannot walk then there's the option of one team member either dragging the body or have 2 team members carrying the wounded mate. This action of carrying/dragging would only be available if a player is wounded.
Prisoners: There could be an option where we could capture an enemy and interrogate him or something like that. You would need at least 3 players to capture one enemy or something like that. If the prisoner cooperates he could be re spawned where his squad leader is without suffering any loss for the team but if he does not cooperate something negative could happen to the whole team. It could be during any game (capture any soldier) or it could be during a specific game or mission (capture an officer). The action of capturing an enemy could be the same button to carrying the wounded. I know this one is quite hard and tough, but it could be fun.
Well that is all, hope it wasn't too long!
